State of the Art Equipment

The Dirt Dragon Wood Floor Cleaning Machine uses a cylindrical brush specificly used to clean hardwood floors without damaging the finish. Exclusive water containment/Vacuum system leaves the floors completely dry. The system removes dirt from the floor and restores a uniformed sheen. The first step is to scrub with the Dirt Dragon using an aggressive wood floor cleaner called I.F.T. The second step is to scrub using the Dirt Dragon to apply a product called squeaky which prepares the floor for the new finish. The the third step is to apply a hardwood floor refinisher with a microfiber pad (a second may sometimes be necessary).

Cleaning Process
  1. Clean- Our revolutionary hardwood floor cleaning process uses a soft bristle rotary brush and a unique wood floor cleaning solution to reach tough dirt and contaminants. As our technicians clean your floor, squeegees trap the dirt, and a powerful vacuum extracts both the dirt and the excess cleaning solution.

  2. Neutralize- When cleaning hardwood floors, our technicians follow up with an extensive hand cleaning for those hard-to-reach places. Then we neutralize the floor with a product called "squeaky", which prepares the floor for the polyurethaning application. The entire process is low-odor, non-toxic and dust-free.

  3. Re polyurethane- We then complete the hardwood floor cleaning process by applying a new protective coat of polyurethane on your floor. This hides scratches and small blemishes, giving your floor a lusterous shine and a like new look.

Finally, choose to refinish your hard wood in either a high gloss or satin finish. The high gloss will be a bright, shiny reflective finish. The satin finish will have a new look with a shine, but not as effective as high gloss. This decision is left up to the customer, and is mostly a personal preference.

HARDWOOD FLOOR CARE 101

Regular hardwood floor care is essential for extending the life of your investment. With proper care, your hardwood floors will be around for many years to come. From unexpected spills to muddy paw prints to unwanted scratches and scrapes, hardwood floors demand special attention. That’s where Desert Rose comes in. We will restore the luster and beauty to your hardwood that every day wear and tear has reared its ugly head. In between professional hardwood cleanings, here are a few of our special tips for maintaining the beauty in your hardwood floors:

  • Vacuum or sweep floors regularly. Avoid using wax, oil soap or other industrial household cleaners. Wax and silicone-based products compromise the integrity of your hardwood surfaces and make cleaning more difficult.

  • Place indoor/outdoor mats at entryways and area rugs in high traffic areas.

  • Avoid rubber-backed rugs or rugs with poor ventilation

  • Maintain consistent humidity levels in your home to prevent floors from swelling, shrinking, cracking, or exposing gaps.

  • Avoid deep scratches. High heels and pets can damage wood flooring. Avoid dragging furniture across hardwood floors.

  • Schedule regular Desert Rose cleanings every 2-4 years based on traffic and wear.
